Consistency, Motivation, and Positivity

We are human and we will make mistakes! But it is what you do to correct those areas and to get back on track. Take your time and enjoy the journey!

Consistency, Motivation, and Positivity

What happens when life is just “lifeing”?? How do you cope with the day-to-day hustle? Are you easily distracted from what is important in your life? Are you overwhelmed by life in general? So many questions, but seriously, how are you coping?? Do you hear the following statements in your mind:

  • I want to give up! It’s too hard!
  • I have so much to do and very little time!
  • I have been training and still no results!!

Do any of the statements sound familiar? For me, absolutely!!!

My life is constantly on the go, and I am always adjusting to ensure that I am still living my life in a healthy manner. Something that has guided me along my health journey path is creating my own affirmations and goals that are practical and sensible in my life.

In order to stay on track, there are three things I constantly work on daily:

  1. Consistency (a steadfast adherence to the same principles, course, or form)
  2. Motivation (the general desire or willingness of someone to do something)
  3. Positivity (the practice of being or tendency to be positive or optimistic in attitude)

These three elements are pertinent to continuing a healthy journey.

How to stay consistent, motivated, and positive:

  1. Creating a motivational music playlist:
    • Music is life! So why not start your day with music that will not only motivate but get you active and moving.
  2. Seek accountability:
    • Find a friend that can hold you accountable to stay on your health goals. This is a non-judgmental individual who is focused and trying to achieve the same/like aspirations.
  3. Introduce Variety to your Routine:
    • Instead of doing the same exact thing every day, switch it up during the week so that it does not become boring or dull. If you are doing meal prep, prepare an assortment of healthy meals. For workouts, try a variation of cardio and weight exercises that keeps that drive going.
  4. Track your progress
    • Consider using apps such as Fitness Pal and Carb Manager to record meals and workouts to show your daily activities. Some have even purchased a Fitbit or an Apple Watch to track movement and any other pertinent information that needs to be tracked.
  5. Set realistic goals:
    • Be honest and transparent with yourself. Set attainable goals daily, weekly, and monthly that you are able toreach. They can be baby steps. Whatever it takes to reach those goals to be a better version of yourself.
  6. Embrace a Positive Mindset:
    • Practice self-compassion daily. Do not be discouraged if your day does not go as planned. Continue to stay focused on your wellness and how far you have come!

Remember: We are NOT perfect! We are human and we will make mistakes! But it is what you do to correct those areas and to get back on track. Take your time and enjoy the journey!
