Hanging with the Sloth

Abstract: This month, Sir Boss takes a look at the movie “The Underdogs”, starring Snoop Dogg and Tika Sumpter. He’ll also have some tips about keeping you safe online.

Hanging with the Sloth

Fun Fact: One of the reasons sloths walk so slowly is that they can’t see too well. They have a very rare condition called rod monochromacy which means that they completely lack cone cells in their eyes. As a result, all sloths are color-blind, can only see poorly in dim light, and are completely blind in bright daylight. Thankfully, sloths compensate for such poor vision by having a phenomenal sense of smell and a great spatial memory.

As the resident sloth, I offer this to you: After an event or a scene, set time aside to process it. Stay hydrated, provide yourself some space for self-care, or even write in your journal. If you don’t have a journal, I have created The BDSM Event Journal. It has space for self-reflection as well as it serves as an excellent way to keep notes of what you learned at events. Movie of the month:

While having a lazy Saturday, My girl and I happened upon a jewel of a movie on Amazon Prime Video. The movie, The Underdoggs, starring Snoop Dogg and Tika Sumpter. In this sports comedy, Snoop plays Jaysen “Two J’s” Jensen, a has-been professional football star on a downward spiral. After a car accident while intoxicated, he is sentenced to community service in his old neighborhood. While picking up trash, he is recognized and ridiculed by old friends. To add to the dejection, he gets into a shouting match with a bunch of foul-mouthed kids playing football. This is where he notices his former girlfriend, Cherise, played by Tika Sumpter, is the mother of one of the children. She explains how the football coach quit and now the boys don’t have a coach. Two Js hatches a plan: coach the boys as part of his community service and impress his ex-girlfriend.

The next practice, Two Js, his big ego, and ne’er do well friend Kareem, played by Mike Epps, show up to coach. They soon find out the players lack talent and organization. The boys don’t respect him and he doesn’t respect the boys. Frustrated, he returns to his old high school to get a pep talk from his former coach and mentor, Coach Feis, played by George Lopez. With a little inspiration, Two Js tries a new strategy with the team. The team loses their first game but gets progressively better as the season goes on. So does Two J's reputation. He is offered a position as a sportscaster and has a debut on the day of a big game. Two Js is faced with the classic dilemma, coach the team at the big game, or make his comeback. You’ll have to watch it to see what he chooses.

The Underdoggs is a great feel-good comedy that will thoroughly exceed your expectations. So next time you have a lazy day or evening, sit down and give this movie a try. You will not be disappointed.

Tech Tip Moment: Beware of the new Facebook scam to hack your account. The most recent scam on Facebook is done through Messenger. A Facebook friend will message you stating they are locked out of their account and to confirm their identity, Facebook is going to send you a text with a code. They ask you for your number and the following code is sent to you. DO NOT DO THIS. If you give them the code, you have given them access to your Facebook and you will be locked out. This recently just happened to someone in our community, so please be cautious out in these Facebook streets.

If you have the time: I’m not gonna hold you much longer, friends. But if you have the time, check out The Coffee and Cleavage Podcast on YouTube. My folks Lady Sa’vage and Ms. TNT were guests on this week’s episode. You can check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvXKDhk7tSQ.

Until next time my friends, slow down and take it easy…
